Adwords PPC, 2 Cent Clicks Still Possible (But not with the Long Tails)!

Yup, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I checked m Adwords account and found out I had received a click, and a charge for .02.  It may seem strange to some that I would get so excited about this, but I’ve always thought I got a late start in Affiliate Marketing, and that clicks under ten cents were a thing of the past.

So what did I do to deserve this?

Rainy Day Clean Up!

You see, this weekend was a rainy cold weekend in Seattle.  So I decided to sit at my computer and clean things up.  I cleaned up all my email addresses (whew!) and I sort of cleaned up my office.  Then, as if that wasn’t enough, I attacked my Adwords Niche accounts.

Now, I don’t have THAT many niche marketing groups, maybe 10 campaigns advertising niche sites, and a few Ebooks.  But I have done my keyword research and have a lot of long tail keywords in each Ad Group.  Many of these keywords do not get impressions, or clicks, so I kind of ignored them -  thinking someday they might pull through for me.

Well, I got tired of going through all those pages, and decided to delete (well actually pause) many of the Long Tail Keywords that weren’t getting impressions (meaning no one was even searching for them anymore).  That’s when the two cent clicks happened.  And, it happened on a Group that is in a highly competitive market (Real Estate), and one that I have been running for over a year, and have been paying .15 to .20 cents a click for every click I get – until now!

I’m not saying to entirely get rid of all your long-tail keywords, but if they run for a good length of time and don’t get clicked on, pause them and see what happens.  You can always resume them later, and you’ll always be able to see what they were (which didn’t help my clean-up effort, but deleting them just seemed to take away a lot of the work I had done).

Always good to test!

BTW, have you heard about the $1 Million Affiliate who will soon tell all?  Find out more before you get left out of the PPC action!

Adwords is really good in driving traffic to your website. however, they are very strict right now and they would not easily approve websites that they thought have low quality content. -
