Google Plans Slap, Affiliate Marketers Strike!
Ah yes, in my dream Affiliate marketers everywhere get tired of putting a lot of time and effort into their Niche Web Sites, only to have Google ignore them entirely; and a strike happens.  It goes something like this:
Niche Marketers and Affiliate Marketers alike decide on what day to have the strike (let’s say, October 30th). Then, all ads are uploaded to Yahoo! and MSN before the GoogleSlapBack day. Then, on the 30th, everyone pauses their ads on Google for an entire day!
Yes, I know, this is just a dream because people can lose a lot of money in a day (and it would take time to pause the ads). But just think about how much money Google would lose!Â
It’s really getting irritating that they continually attack the affiliate marketer – like selling things on the Internet is a bad thing.?!
Read about it here:
 http://adwords.blogspot.com/2007/09/websites-that-may-merit-low-landing.html
Basically their new slap includes:
- “Data collection sites that offer free gifts, subscription services etc., in order to collect private information
- Arbitrage sites that are designed for the sole purpose of showing ads
- Malware sites that knowingly or unknowingly install software on a visitor’s computer. . .â€
“The following types of websites are likely to merit low landing page quality scores and may be difficult to advertise affordably.
- “Get rich quick’ sites
- Comparison shopping sites
- Travel aggregators
- Affiliates that don’t comply with our affiliate guidelinesâ€
The one I have the most problem with is the first one – the Data Collection sites. It appears that Google would like you to STOP collecting the names of people that are interested in your products. – that way you will have to PAY for EVERY visitor you get! Can you say, Internet Advertising Mafia!
I’m beginning to think that a Niche and Affiliate Marketing strike is a necessity – or maybe at least try a few other types of advertising.Â
I get a lot more leads and sales from Article Marketing then I’ve ever gotten from Adwords. This is because I use a Content Spooling service that makes each one of my articles different (avoiding the duplicate content Google Slap of the past.)
I also try to make sure my site is SEO Optimized, so even if Google doesn’t want to list my page, it may appear there anyway – and that’s the best form of revenge!
