The other day I was checking out Shopping.com Consumer Demand Index where I sometimes go to find new niches. This site shows “the top 100 searches for each of the Shopping.com categories. It’s a great Niche research tool – and is updated every two weeks.
Well, I found the word “intuition” on the site, and got very excited. You see, I have a self-help site on dreaming and intuition, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to update the site topics with more keywords and articles on intuition.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, I didn’t have time to do it that day, so today I thought I’d check in again – and I couldn’t find it anywhere (the site lets you drill down through the keywords, so I must have drilled quite far that day).
Then I decided just to use the search function and entered the word “intuition” – and came up with Intuition Perfume!
Lesson learned! While I still think intuition is a great keyword, I’m going to do a lot more keyword research before I revamp my entire site.
You should also always check more then one place when doing keyword research to make sure it’s worth the time and effort you will spend creating your Niche Affiliate Site.
