Star Struck at the Summit

tn_127-2708_img.JPGI promise, after this I’ll start giving information on things learned at the Affiliate Summit, this little incident was so funny that I just had to share.

I consider myself a serious Affiliate Marketer but am still by no means a Super Affiliate.  I spend about 10 hours a day writing articles, tweaking my sites and managing my PPC campaigns.  I also spend a good amount of time reading blogs from top Affiliate Marketers, so I can keep up to date on what’s happening in the Marketing world in general.

I NEVER miss reading Shawn Collins’ blog.  If there’s Affiliate Marketing news out there, he will have a video made about it immediately.  His video’s are like good movies that I never want to miss.

OK, so now for the story:

I had just arrived in Vegas for the Summit.  We had hit some turbulence coming in and my brain was jumbled so I decided to go downstairs and find myself a nice glass of wine.

My mind was wandering as I waited for the elevator.  And when it stopped, and the doors opened, there was Shawn Collins and two other people.

I just stood there – I guess I was sort of “Star Struck.”  Then I blurted out – I READ YOUR BLOG!

(Ya, me and about 8,000 other people)

He just looked at me and said “are you going down?”

Umm – I came out of my trance and got into the elevator, looking toward the floor. I couldn’t say a word – I’m so glad he was chatting with the others.  I bet he thought I was a nut case (and maybe I was at that time). The ride ended and we all went our separate ways.

Later, during the event, I ran across him again and stopped to apologize and explain myself.  He laughed and admitted that he did think that was kind of strange. But I managed to talk him into taking a picture with me anyway.

He really is a nice guy. . . You should READ HIS BLOG!  :-)
