My email box is filled with Affiliate Marketers trying to sell me the next “big idea” in Internet marketing such as: how to get more traffic, how to increase sales, how to “get rich quick.” I used to fall for almost all of these. I’ve spent thousands of dollars buying information products, and while I can’t say that I didn’t learn anything from them, I can say that I could have learned it for less money!
You see, we live in a world of Bloggers! And these Bloggers are always reading and learning, and blogging about what they read and learn – including me. And, either because they don’t know any better, or because they want to give their subscribers real information, they will tell you in a general blog post, just what they know.
They don’t call it a “Secret;” they don’t call it their “New Big Discovery” they just write it down so others can learn and profit from what they’ve found (because us writers like it when people learn from our writings – it just makes everything worthwhile!).
How do I know this? Because part of my other job is to review blog posts every day and send the major Affiliate Marketing posts to my boss for review and posting. Oh, and usually I post the best of those ideas in this blog (yes, sometimes I get to have my cake and eat it too!)
Anyway, I’m always AMAZED at the information I compile that’s given away for free by bloggers.
Occasionally though, I fall for a big sales letter that shows proof of massive sales, and has even bigger promises of making big money fast; and I send my money in to buy the latest eBook . And do you know what?
MOST of that info I already know because I read it on a Blog!
So, IF you have time, the next time you read a big sales letter that intrigues you, write down the major points of information that you want to know, and then do a Google search on the topic. You may be surprised at what you find.
IF you don’t have time to do the research yourself, go ahead and buy some info products. These books are good because they compile all of the information in one place – and that will save you the time of researching it all yourself – just know that you really don’t need more than a couple to learn everything you need to know.
It’s the classic case of time versus money – and it’s up to you to decide which one you want to part with.
P.S. I’m out there looking, so It would be a good idea to subscribe to this Blog or to my newsletter if you want to keep up-to-date on the Affiliate Marketing information I’m finding - for free. .
